President and eighth-generation member of the Henriot family, Gilles de Larouzière, said during a webcast to launch the wine that few people could pronounce Enchanteleurs, especially – perhaps – those in the Asian countries increasingly important to Champagne. But the Blanc de Blancs NV impressed me just as much and it’s a quarter the price. The 2006 Cuvée Hemera is a beautiful wine. Named Henriot Cuvée Hemera, it’s effectively a replacement for the previous prestige wine, Cuvée des Enchanteleurs. Henriot, for long one of my favourite Champagne producers, has debuted a new prestige cuvée – or at least, new to me. 97 points, Decanter, 2018.Champagne Henriot’s chef de cave Alice Tétienne Champagne Henriot Can be enjoyed immediately as an aperitif or kept for 5-50 years in the safety of a dark cellar to allow the Champagne to further flourish over time. The Cuvée Hemera 2005 is extremely fresh and a definite jewel in the Henriot portfolio. The new name ‘Hemera’ with the vintage 0205 pays homage to the Greek Goddess of Daylight which is painted on the walls of the Champagne Henriot family estate, Les Aulnois. As a symbol of this union of terroirs, the Henriot family decided to create their Prestige Cuvée as a blend of the six Grands Crus, with equal proportion of each, expressed through a singular year that makes it a Vintage. Later, in 1880, when Paul Henriot married Marie Marguet, three Crus from the Côte de Blancs joined the Henriot vineyards: Avize, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Chouilly.

When Apolline Henriot founded the House, her vineyards were located in the heart of the Montagne de Reims in the crus of Verzy, Verzenay and Mailly Champagne. The Henriot Prestige Cuvée, formerly named Les Enchanteleurs, is only crafted in exceptional years and exclusively sourced from the House’s six most historical Crus. It is a tremendous symbol and tribute to Henriot’s legacy and vision that the wine Apolline Henriot originally produced is still being created two hundred years later!ĥ0% Chardonnay, 50% Pinot Noir 100% Grand Cru minimum aged for 12 years on lees 5g/L dosage This cuvée reveals exceptional freshness and elegance, unfurling a breadth of aromas against a magnificent mineral surround. This vintage is a duo of the two main grape varieties of the house’s vineyard expressed in similar proportions. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir sourced exclusively from Premier and Grand Cru vineyards, the wines selected to narrate the story of the 2008 reunite together the strong personalities of the Henriot vineyards in Pinot Noir: Mailly-Champagne, Avenay Val d’Or and Mutigny, with the great characters in Chardonnay: Chouilly and Trépail. The 2008 vintage was a very classic year with perfect climate conditions. Brut Millésime 2008 marks the House’s bicentenary with its 200th vintage offering.
